Autumn/Winter 2008-9 Coats
Marc by Marc Jacobs
The Marc By Marc Jacobs take on the classic swing coat is kept fresh with a playful, bubble-like pattern. This is the kind of coat that will work with everything from baggy trousers to a sparkly cocktail number at the end-of-year Christmas parties.
D&G
As D&G took a more serious direction for the second season in a row, tartan was key on the catwalk. the svelte fit of this coat is perfect, perfect over prim, pussy-bow blouses and, for the brave, with checked tights.
DKNY
Purple is once again a strong trend for the cooler months. DKNY is always reliable for on-trend, easy to wear pieces and this coat is no exception. If you’re not afraid of colour, wear it tone-on-tone, or throw it over anything really - this coat will work for nine to five and five to nine.
Celine
Blue is already shaping up to be one of spring/summer 2009’s hottest trends - stay ahead of the crowds in this oh-so-chic trench. i love the oversized cuffs, collars and epaulettes and the fact that it can be worn confidentlt right into next season.
Balmain
Not exactly a coat per se, but this tuxedo-style jacket works as brilliantly with rock’n'roll python jeans as it will over cocktail dresses.
