Ed Westwick pairs his pretty pink shirt with a maroon suit as he makes his way from the make-up trailer to the set of Gossip Girl in New York City on Wednesday.

Mr. Westwick turned the big 2-1 last Saturday and celebrated at TAO Night Club in Vegas.

Co-stars Chace Crawford, Blake Lively, Penn Badgley and Leighton Meester were all on set as well.

Gossip Girl cutie Leighton Meester is the August 2008 cover girl for Lucky Magazine, out July 8.

And she’s in a pretty happy spot in her life right now. Leighton shares with a smile, “I know it’s corny to say. … I love my life right now. The fashion alone is pretty unbelievable.”

Vanity Fair recently asked the 22-year-old actress who her favorite designer is. She said, “I’m more a normal person than, like, a fashion girl. For everyday, I like Fluxus—it’s really soft. I really like Foley & Corinna; they do a good mix of vintage and new.”

As for her preference of either a BlackBerry or iPhone, Leighton joked, “Why do you assume I don’t have a Nokia pay-and-go phone? No, I have a BlackBerry.”

And does she prefer Justin Timberlake or John Mayer?

NBC just confirmed that Richie will be popping into the spy series for an episode in which she plays the former high school nemesis of resident babe Sarah, played by Yvonne Strahovski. (So very Lohan on Betty, right?) Richie plays a “snarky and spiteful girl who tortured Sarah,” and something tells me she’s gonna so regret that when she sees that Sarah can split hairs with a Ninja knife. (Hooray for catfights!)

“Nicole auditioned for the part and was very funny,” says Chuck boss Josh Schwartz. “This role is a great opportunity for her to show off her comedic skills and be diabolically evil and kick some butt.”

We’ve been contacted by entertainment reporters - within days of each other - from the NY Post and the NY Daily News.

They both wanted to share a juicy piece of info - too juicy to print, they said.

Seems like on-set sources, which the pubs tell us are reliable, have told each paper that Chace Crawford and Gossip Girl co-star and real-life roommate Ed Westwick are in a relationship and not trying to hide it, at least on set.

BOTH NY papers tell us that Chace and Ed were recently seen kissing, open-mouthed on set (in Chace’s trailer).

Very interesting!

The Post and Daily News both declined to publish this item because they don’t like to “out” people.

Uh huh. We find that quite hypocritical, as both papers have had no problem talking about Lindsay Lohan’s relationship with saMAN Ronson.

So….

Well, it’s either true or someone(s) is/are trying to spread rumors to both New York papers about the Gossip Girl co-stars.

Gossip Girl costars and real-life couple Blake Lively and Penn Badgley grab a bit to eat at Tortilla Flats in New York City on Tuesday.

The two lovebirds ate together and later played a few games of bingo. Afterwards, Blake and Penn were seen taking a cab to a nearby Starbucks where they were seen holding hands and getting cozy.

Penn wore a Florianópolis (nicknamed Floripa) t-shirt. It’s the capital city of Santa Catarina State in southern Brazil!

Of this years Fox’s Teen Choice Award nominees, Gossip Girl leads the pack of with 14 nods, including “Choice” TV show drama and “Choice” TV actress nominations for Blake Lively and her co-star Leighton Meester.

Yes, Penn was named after balls.

Penn explains, “My father was bouncing a Penn tennis ball for stress during my mom’s pregnancy, and they couldn’t agree on a name, and when my mother got her first amnio, I’m not even sure what that is, she just casually mentioned that the baby is the size of that tennis ball, and that’s it. I’m glad it wasn’t Dunlop or Wilson.

When asked about his romance with Gossip Girl co-star Blake Lively, though, Penn wasn’t as forthcoming.

Says Badgley Penn says, “I understand it, obviously there’s chemistry there. She’s a great girl. … We have to draw a line, at some point, with our personal lives, because otherwise, ya know, when do people stop?”
